(for 4 Cylinder vehicles with Distributor Caps that have SCREW-IN ACORN HT Leads). This kit is to replace existing plug & coil copper High Tension leads as originally fitted to 1930-70s vehicles. It uses 7mm dia COPPER Lead along with SUPPRESSED " CHAMPION" Plug Caps to reduce static interference to other electrical items. To make a plug or coil lead simply cut the lead to the length of existing leads or when existing leads are not available choose the best route from the Distributor to the plug or coil and cut to length.
SCREW ON Plug Caps onto one end of the lead. On the other end of the lead f it a SHORT ACORN Nut. Then, r emove approximately 1/8" (3mm) of the Insulation from the lead to reveal the copper/alloy wire removing more than 1/8" (3mm) of the Insulation will make it difficult to fit the Acorn Nut to the Cap.

Then fit the Copper/Brass washer over the wire and spread the strands in a star formation (trim off any strands which are over the edge of the washer). Fit to the Distributor Cap. Fit the LONG ACORN Nut/ Copper washer to one end of the lead.. This is for the COIL End of the lead.

Fit a SHORT ACORN Nut/ Copper washer to the other end of the lead.. This is for the Distributor Cap End of the lead. 6ft 6 (2m) of COPPER HT Lead - 0-961-01.

SUPPRESSED Plug Caps - WCX600. 1 LONG ACORN NUT for Coil lead. 5 ACORN NUTS - for Distrubtor Cap Leads. Check before you use E10 Petrol in your Classic Car. E10 means petrol contains up to 10% renewable ethanol.

To date, petrol in the UK has contained up to 5% renewable ethanol (known as E5). During summer 2021, the standard (or'Premium') petrol grade in the UK will become E10. If your vehicle is not compatible with E10 fuel, you will still be able to use E5 by purchasing the'Super' grade petrol from most filling stations.
Filling stations will clearly label petrol as either E10 or E5. Ethanol is known to degrade rubber and many metals and alloys used in Classic Car Fuel systems.
If you do fill up with E10, dilute with E5 as soon as possible. Do not make a costly mistake! Motoring across the world with the Historic Car Parts Shop. (manufacturers names used for reference purposes only). Outside UK, VAT will not be charged.
