MX5/Miata 1.8 COPs Conversion kit PNP (Wired) PNP. ME221 GEN1/GEN2 ME442, Megasquirt, Speeduino, LINK Compatible. Our Kits are the only on the market that cater for PNP in both wasted and sequential setups.
If you are looking at this kit then you probably already know what it is. Are you building a Turbo or Supercharged MX5, if so then our Coil over plug kit is for you! This kit paired with a standalone ECU like ME221/ME442 or Megasquirt will enable you to run more boost and give your car a more efficient spark at the very least.
It will also allow you to run Sequential ignition instead of the Batch-Fire/Wasted spark the MX5 runs with the stock coil packs. We run these very kits on all of our boosted MX5's to allow more control over the ignition system. All our kits are Tesa taped and insulated to protect the wiring and your rocker covers. Please see our other kit for 1.6 cars. So what do you get. Wired Pig Tails for coil packs. Ground eyelet for valve cover.
Our 1.8 COPs Kit is full Plug and Play for MK1/MK2 MX-5's. We do advise you run an aftermarket ECU that is able to run these types of coils, it is possible for the stock ECU to run them but you will need to reduce the dwell time. On aftermarket ECU's be sure to lower your Dwell to 2.5ms at 12v.
